People on the Move: BEP Systems; PMD Business Finance; Leep Utilities; WorkMobile

BEP Systems, the mortgage and savings origination software house, has appointed four new staff members as the company continues its expansion strategy.

The appointments are in line with BEP Systems’ continued growth, having won several new lender and financial services accounts and moved into larger offices in Manchester.

The four highly talented new recruits are: Hania Zaidi, QA lead; David Brown, senior technical lead; David Hillery, pre-sales manager; and Nick Anjum, graduate business analyst.

Hania will be overseeing testing strategy and execution. In her previous roles she has placed QA process, strategy and structure and built a test team from scratch. She has been actively involved in setting up testing automation and helped to improve release management processes.

David Brown joins from Capita and will be working with the chief technology officer and development team on improving and supporting the functionality and architecture of BEP’s Apprivo2 platform.

David Hillerby joins with experience from working in pre-sales posts at Neopost and Bottomline Technologies and will be working closely with managing director Chris Little on the sales pipeline.

Nick has just finished at Manchester Metropolitan University with a first class Masters in mathematics and will be helping with enhancements to the firm’s core platforms.

BEP Systems is rapidly expanding as it continue to improve its Apprivo 2 system for commercial lending, bridging finance, second charges, Shariah compliant mortgages and customer-facing portals, as well as savings account origination.

Oldham-based PMD Business Finance has bolstered its senior management team with a new operations manager.

Jonny Kirkham joined the team this Summer, as part of PMD’s expansion plans.

Over the past year the firm arranged 2,516 deals, lending £108m. PMD also relocated to a larger space at Howarth Court in Oldham in order to house its rising 30+ staff count, which has grown from just eight staff members when the business was founded in 2010.

Peter Dobson, managing director, said: “Jonny’s appointment is the latest development in our expansion plans. Jonny brings with him impressive experience and will certainly be a welcome addition to our growing team and senior management.

“So far, 2019 has been an exciting year for PMD. We launched our invoice finance division earlier this year and it’s already had a huge positive effect, allowing us to attack the asset-based lending marketplace.

“We also introduced our training academy ‘Accelerate’ this Summer, with the aim of attracting fresh and young talent to join our sales team and learn through a structured training and development programme.”

Jonny previously worked at Sage UK for 10 years, as well as Reed Recruitment Specialists and CarFinance 247. He said: “My new role means I have responsibility for the sales support processes, with a focus on how we make ourselves more efficient to allow for growth.

“I manage people in the process, so I need to drive and manage change through effective leadership and management. My focus will be on understanding and mapping out our processes, understanding where we can be better and then creating new ways to do things.”

Multi-utility platform, Leep Utilities, has expanded its Northern team with the appointment of Ben Heath as project leader for the North.

Heath’s hire brings the team at Leep Utilities up to 50 – a 350% increase from when the business launched in May 2017.

Heath joins the business from BGS Utilities where he has been a senior project manager since 2015. His new role will see him responsible for overseeing delivery on the Northern sites, ensuring contractors are adhering to standards and providing the right documentation and then being the final point of call before the sites are energised.

The milestone hire follows a period of sustained growth for Leep, with the acquisition of SSE Water and the business recently obtaining an Independent Gas Transporter licence, both strengthening its multi-utility offering.

Manchester-based mobile data capture specialist, WorkMobile, has furthered the recent expansion of its technology department with the appointment of an experienced new software developer.

With more than 20 years of software development experience, Che Knights joins the WorkMobile team as a C# developer, and will be helping to develop WorkMobile’s systems in line with industry best practice.

Having held a variety of programmer and developer positions at both national and international businesses, including Pets at Home, Pregis and most recently cloud-based software company Kaonix, Che will be able to draw on his breadth of experience to create new opportunities for WorkMobile.
