New luxury homebuilder starts construction in Stockport

Spade in the ground for Jack Seddon

Edgefold Homes is on its way to deliver its first prestigious development of new homes at Romiley, Stockport. Three luxury family homes will be ready to move into in Spring 2020.

Fronting onto Richmond Road, a desirable residential area close to the village centre, the three properties have been designed to provide contemporary living with bespoke frontages.

Designed by local architect Bowker Sadler, each five-bedroomed home offers smart and spacious living with high specification fixtures and fittings internally and externally.

The luxurious bedroom accommodation provides master and second bedroom en suites, furnished with Ideal Standard suites.

The large ground floor offers ultimate contemporary living, with an open plan kitchen fitted with NEFF appliances and dining area that leads out through bi-fold doors to the landscaped garden.

Completed with utility room and a separate grand living room, each home has an integral single garage. Homeowners will be able to choose their own finishes.

Following the same internal layout, each property is differentiated by its unique frontage of either stone, brick or slate grey Cedral cladding.

Within a few minutes’ walk to the village centre, and just 20 minutes to the Peak District National Park, Romiley provides excellent transport links via the railway station and main commuter networks to Stockport and Manchester.

The beautiful rural setting offers an abundance of leisure activities, with the nearby golf club and parks. The village itself has a wealthy range of amenities and a welcoming community spirit.

Works began at the development last week with an official ‘spade in the ground’ ceremony, which saw the new Edgefold Homes team formally established.

Jack Seddon, construction director, and Ken Whitaker, commercial director, have combined their experience to form the new housebuilding firm, which aims to roll out further premium new homes developments that are in-keeping with their local surroundings.

The Romiley development will also see quantity surveyor Will Paul and assistant site manager Kelvin Lancaster, join the team.

Jack Seddon is part of the established Seddon family, which owns and manages the Seddon Group.

He has set up independent housebuilding firm Edgefold Homes to deliver quality new home developments across the North West.

He said: “Romiley is a desirable village for homeowners, with its wonderful balance of countryside, thriving community and commuter networks. The plot stood out for us as being an excellent opportunity to bring forward bespoke homes to meet the demand of the discerning family.

“We are delighted to be under way to deliver the homes and this is a key step in our ongoing strategy to seek further land opportunities and expand the business.”
