Manchester storage facility to open £3m unit by airport

Manchester-based storage facility, Storage World, is to open a new location in Airport City, Manchester.

The project comes following the success of its Manchester city and Middleton sites, which serve more than 1,000 storage clients and host many businesses, with in excess of 200 employees based at workplaces within these facilities.

An investment of more than £3m has been put into the new facility to create a storage space that is ultra-modern in looks and highly secure for businesses and residents to store items safely.

The store is set to house 500 individual storage units during phase one, varying in size from 10 sq ft to 1,500 sq ft to meet a range of customer needs. The site itself will span more than 68,000 sq ft.

The new self-storage facility is set to open next month, October, bringing a comprehensive storage space to businesses and residents alike that are located nearby or frequent the airport on a regular basis.

The new storage facility is a welcome development as it is set to become a base to store imported and exported goods, as well as providing both local and regional storage solutions. The facility has efficient transport links to various areas across the region, located just two minutes from the M56.

The storage facility is thought to be of benefit to neighbouring towns such as Wilmslow, Hale, Lymm and Altrincham, as these areas currently do not have a dedicated storage unit nearby.

Joining more than 200 businesses based at the airport, Storage World adds to the wealth of opportunities that sees 100,000 people already employed within this business location.
