New man in charge at Manchester operation of big four firm

Adam Waller

A big four firm has unveiled the new head of its Manchester office.

PwC has announced that Adam Waller will become the senior office partner for PwC’s Manchester office.

Adam will succeed Iwan Griffiths who moved on in the summer as part of a strategic review at the accountancy firm.

PWC announced in August that it had appointed a new regional leader for the North as part of a move to bring together its North West, and Yorkshire and North East practices.

As part of a strategic regional review PwC decided to bring together the North West and Yorkshire and North East practices under the stewardship of one regional leader.

Ian Green

Ian Green took over from Iwan Griffiths who was North West regional chairman and Ian Morrison who was Yorkshire & North East regional leader.

Adam is a private business tax partner for PwC with over 25 years’ experience and leads the private client business in the North West.

Having worked both in Manchester and Leeds throughout his career he is well known in the local business and professional market.

He advises a diverse client base across private businesses and private clients, a key strategic growth area for the firm, that includes families, entrepreneurs, trusts, private companies and partnerships both in the UK and overseas.

He said: “I’m proud to be taking on the role of office senior partner at our Manchester office. Under Iwan’s leadership over the past seven years our Manchester office has grown from 600 to 1,300 colleagues and partners now based in the most fantastic office at No1 Spinningfields.

“Iwan has ensured that PwC is regarded as the leading professional services firms in the region and I am committed to building on this momentum in the future.”

Ian Green, PwC’s North regional leader added: “I am delighted for Adam being appointed office senior partner.

“Adam is a great advocate of the North West region and the entrepreneurial spirit that is found in Manchester and across the North West. Adam is well known in the business and professional community and will ensure that we continue to grow our practice, help our clients and our communities.”
