£1m nursery opens with backing of bank loan

A new £1m nursery has opened in West Lancashire thanks to a bank loan.

Located on High Lane in Burscough, Kid Inc nursery group has invested a total of £980,000 in the new purpose-built facility, including £680,000 provided by Lloyds Bank to help support the project.

The funding is part of Lloyds Bank’s commitment to lend £1.3bn to businesses in the North West during 2019.

The nursery group was first launched in 2014 by husband-and-wife duo, Olawale and Moji Jones.

The couple also continue to operate three other established nursery brands across locations in Blackpool, Blackburn and Bolton, which they acquired in 2004.

The new bespoke building will replace two existing Kid Inc nurseries on High Lane and Lordsgate Lane, with children and staff from both locations moving to the new larger premises.

The move will allow the couple to accommodate additional children, bringing total capacity up to 110 children and creating seven new jobs as a result.

Olawale Jones said: “Our nurseries offer children the opportunity to learn and play in a fun and safe environment. Through our existing sites, we have built a trustworthy reputation and established ourselves within the local community.

“The new premises will give us the opportunity to build on this solid foundation while providing the headroom to continue to grow.

“In addition to the wonderful team of twenty staff who will be moving to the new nursery, we’re looking forward to growing the Kid Inc family, and welcoming many more new faces.

“The team at Lloyds Bank has been an immense support and having them by our side throughout this process has ensured that we have been able to realise our ambitions for the new site quickly.”

Gareth Hall, relationship director at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, said: “Olawale and Moji are experienced nursery operators that have built up a very loyal customer base in Burscough.

“The Kid Inc brand has fantastic potential and it’s great to have been able to play a part in helping them to grow their business.”
