Rachel Adamson and Linda Kirk

A niche law firm – whose lead experts have represented clients at national and international level – has been launched to provide a new level of service in fraud and property law across the North West.

Rachel Adamson, with more than 20 years’ experience in fraud and regulatory law, has joined forces with Linda Kirk, a specialist in all aspects of conveyancing and property, to create Adkirk Law, based in Preston.

Both held senior posts with Stephensons Solicitors, while Rachel is also a former head of practice crime and Linda a former head of practice for residential conveyancing for Slater and Gordon Lawyers (UK).

Rachel, head of fraud and regulatory, said: “Increasingly, we find our clients want specialists advising them in these areas of law and we can offer guidance at every step with the support of our team. This is a national service we offer, wherever our clients may be across the UK.”

Linda, head of residential conveyancing, said: “We want to be known for clear, no-nonsense advice and for our clients to know they have the experience of our team behind them at all stages. There isn’t any challenge we can’t take up and our services are built on trusted relationships with people who need our support.”

The firm was launched at an event held at Manchester Hall attended by partners, associates and senior professional services figures from across the UK.

Rachel’s most recent high-profile case was defending a client in the Euribor interest rate trial at Southwark Crown Court which received international publicity.

As a panel member for the Police Superintendents’ Association for England and Wales, Rachel also defends senior police officers accused of misconduct or other offences.

In regulatory work, she has successfully defended individuals and businesses against proceedings brought by the CQC, Ofsted, the HSE and the Environment Agency.

As a member of the Conveyancing Association, Linda works across national property issues at national and local level and can advise on complex cases such as new-build, shared ownership, help to buy and lease extensions in addition to sales, purchases and remortgages.
