Sports retail giant signs up to Flint Retail Park
Acting on behalf of Hollins Murray Group (HMG), joint property agents Legat Owen and CSP have signed up Sports Direct to Flint Retail Park.
Located off Holywell Road in the heart of Flintshire, the retail scheme comprises 121,655 sq ft of open retail space.
The sports retailer has taken unit B, measuring 8,195 sq ft, on a 10-year lease.
The park is home to a range of retailers including Home Bargains, Sainsbury’s, Argos and B&M.
James Lutton at Legat Owen said: “We are pleased to see yet another national operator choose Flint Retail Park as the location for their latest store in the region.
“The park benefits from a high footfall thanks to its location close to Flint town centre and adjacent to the Jade Jones Pavilion where the town’s library and leisure centre are also located.
“With the deal now completed, plans are now afoot for future expansion.”
Nick Casson, director at HMG, added: “Securing Sports Direct on a 10-year lease is a real boost for the scheme and the town as a whole.
“We believe it will act as a catalyst for the rest of the scheme and we are in discussions with a number of other occupiers for vacant units/asset management initiatives.”
