Procurement organisation announces £500m heating and renewables framework

Merseyside-based procurement organisation and social enterprise Fusion21 has announced the launch of its national heating and renewables framework, which is worth up to £500m over a four-year period.

Designed to meet the needs of all public sector members in the housing, education, health, blue light, local authority and central government sectors, the framework provides domestic and commercial solutions with a lot strategy that will offer a range of services from consultancy to design, servicing, maintenance and installation.

The framework also includes a selection of renewable technology applications from air and ground source heat pumps to solar thermal, electric heating and hot water systems.

The commercial element of this framework can be utilised for a range of installations which includes district heating systems and the installation/servicing of heat interface units.

Split into ten lots, for the first time the framework will feature an education-specific lot in partnership with the Department for Education, developed to support schools, colleges, academies and further/higher education establishments with their heating requirements.

Providing regional coverage, the framework will facilitate local delivery and is structured to open doors to SMEs, enabling suppliers to bid for works suited to their experience and expertise.

Peter Francis, director of operations at Knowsley-based Fusion21, said: “Set for launch in January this compliant procurement solution has been developed in response to market demand – reflecting feedback provided from both our members and the supply chain.

“With the use of renewable technologies on the rise and a government target to deliver decarbonisation, this framework will also support members to install a range of sustainable heating solutions tailored to their requirements.

“Members accessing this framework will benefit from greater efficiencies, support from technical procurement experts and an experienced supply chain, in addition to flexible call-off processes, increased SME collaboration and social value delivery aligned to organisational priorities

“We welcome applications from interested organisations that meet the criteria set out in the tender documentation now available on the mytenders web portal – www.mytenders.co.uk – under Notice ID OCT158374.”

The submission deadline is Wednesday, November 20.

Fusion21 provides fully-compliant procurement services to the public sector and is committed to making a difference in communities across the UK.

To date the firm has saved its members more than £225m through the procurement process, created 6,500 jobs and generated more than £80m of social impact.
