Investment increases manufacturing capacity at Manchester plant

New mixing vessels at the Irlam plant

In response to recent growth, Manchester-based global lubricants specialist Bishopdale Group has installed new manufacturing vessels into its Irlam factory.

The upturn in business has also led to the firm submitted planning permission to increase its main manufacturing site by 50%.

These new developments will allow the company to increase production of its copper based greases by 75% and comes at a time when the company has experienced growth in the Middle East and announced significant joint partnerships – specifically with Italian Industrial fluid lubricant manufacturer Bellini SpA and Blachford in the USA.

The new vessels will allow the group to diversify into new product ranges as well as considerably increase existing production capacity.

Commercial director, Douglas Hunt, said: “Our strategy from the outset has always been to reinvest into the business and we are fortunate to be growing steadily.

“Equipping our factory to meet current and impending customer demand is vital to our continued success.”

Most of the extra space linked to the planning permission submission will be used for storage purposes for the group’s products.

Bishopdale Group is the holding company for a group of industrial lubricants brands – Metalube, Molyslip and UOP.

The group has increased staff numbers at its Manchester headquarters by 22.5% during the past year.
