Award winning gin now planning to conquer Canada

Manchester Gin

A fast-growing gin firm is now planning to export its success story to Canada.

Manchester Gin is celebrating an eighth export market for its award-winning Signature gin.

Following the brand’s enormous success in the UK, the award-winning gin, which uses northern favourite, dandelion and burdock as its signature botanicals, will be making its way to Canadian shelves in Ontario in January 2020.

Manchester Gin co-founders and Master Distillers, Jen Wiggins and Seb Heeley, secured the category listing with the LCBO and made the first of many visits to the country in November.

Seb Heeley said: “We absolutely loved being able to offer intimate Signature gin tasting sessions through one of the world’s largest purchasers of alcoholic drinks.

“On the back of the success of the new distillery, we are in a great place to introduce people internationally to our products and brand. Securing Canada as an export market is a dream come true, and we’re delighted to be taking our hard work worldwide.”

Manchester Gin’s Signature recipe combines classic citrus and juniper notes, underpinned by dandelion and burdock root; a nod to the city that inspired the gin.

Buyers were also introduced to Manchester Gin’s new endeavour, the rehoming of its distillery The Spirit of Manchester, which now houses a brand new 1,000 litre still – Wonder Wend as well as a premium bar and restaurant.

Visitors at the city centre distillery can take part in gin tours, guided tastings and experience distilling their very own spirit.

Canada is Manchester Gin’s eighth export market, joining the likes of Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium and Jersey.
