Security specialist AVR Group has secured a £2 million funding package to drive forward its growth plans.

AVR Group, based in Timperley, Altrincham, will use the funding from Lombard Technology Sales to invest in larger volumes of hardware and expand its network infrastructure.

AVR Group will also use the finance to expand its online customer portals for clients and expand its team with two new developers.

Founded in 1976 as Sonic Alarms Limited, AVR Group provides 24-hour remote monitoring services across the UK for public and private sector organisations, in addition to specialist communication infrastructure and software for government agencies.

This includes providing wearable devices for lone workers to help ensure their health and safety.

These wearable devices contain a SIM card, which communicates in real-time with AVR Group’s remote monitoring centre, allowing any issues to be raised immediately.

As well as the Timperley-based headquarters, the business runs a back-up monitoring service for added resilience. AVR Group employs over 60 staff across its sites.

Graham Robinson, finance director at AVR Group, said: “The funding from Lombard Technology Sales has come at the perfect time as we look to expand our specialist offerings to a growing range of businesses and organisations across the country.

“Securing upfront investment was crucial to our ambitious growth plans. It allows us to upscale our network infrastructure, continue to invest in technology and hardware, and improve our customer offering.

“Crucially, this funding enables the company to retain ownership of its intellectual property. That was a really important factor for us as we searched for the investment needed to help us continue to develop.”

Chris Langthorne, relationship manager at Lombard, said: “AVR Group has specialist expertise in the field of remote monitoring and has used this to create a service that is crucial to ensuring the safety of vulnerable people across the country.

“The services the business provides are invaluable and we look forward to seeing AVR Group continue to grow.”

Stuart Brown, Lombard Technology Sales specialist relationship manager at Lombard, said: “The significant £2 million funding package we’ve been able to provide for AVR Group will prove vital to the business’s ambitious growth plans.

“We are passionate about supporting innovative businesses across the UK and look forward to seeing AVR Group go from strength to strength.”
