Cereal giant to create 70 jobs at Merseyside warehouse

Cereal firm Kellogg has confirmed it is move into a warehouse in Haydock creating 70 jobs in the process.

The company, which has its UK headquarters in Old Trafford, is to lease a 525,000 sq. ft warehouse in Haydock.

The building is thought to be the region’s largest speculative industrial unit.

The move will help its delivery of its brands across Britain and for export to the European Union and Middle East.

The 91-acre site, formerly Florida Farm, is located off the East Lancs Road near junction 23 of the M6.

The warehouse was developed by Bericote in partnership with Hillwood.

The Haydock site will be Kellogg’s largest warehouse in the UK.

Head of Kellogg in the UK, Chris Silcock, said: “We’ve been proud to call the North West of England home since 1938 and, with all our British operations stretching from Manchester into North Wales, this move shows our renewed commitment to the region.

“It’s great to be able to open a base in St Helens’ and expand into the Liverpool City-Region in support of our broader business’s growth ambition.”

Kellogg has been in the UK since 1922 and it opened its first British factory in Manchester.
