Pan Asian buffet restaurant, Cosmo, represented by Savills, has secured three new sites, including Liverpool, and is seeking a further five for 2020 as the popular restaurant chain looks to expand throughout the UK and Ireland.

With 19 restaurants already open and trading across the UK, Cosmo has secured its 20th site at the Liverpool One shopping centre, with a further two planned for Glasgow and Dublin later this year.

The buffet chain has agreed a new 15-year lease for the 11,128 sq ft restaurant at the Liverpool shopping centre, which will become the brand’s first site in the city.

In Glasgow, Cosmo will open in the new St Enoch Centre leisure quarter, alongside Vue cinema and other restaurants.

Despite the challenges within the casual dining and buffet sectors, London-based Cosmo continues to perform strongly, with ambitious growth plans for 2020 as the brand actively seeks new locations.

Founded in 2003, the buffet brand has grown to become a nationwide chain as customers embrace global dining and flavours from all corners of the world.

This year will mark the brand’s first new openings since 2017, when it launched in Hammerson’s West Quay Watermark development.

Carlene Hughes, leisure director at Savills, said: “Consumer demand for Asian cuisine is at an all-time high, so, in spite of the headwinds within the wider F&B sector, Cosmo has been able to stand out from the crowd.

“With a continued demand for its excellent range of food and elevated buffet concept, Cosmo is well and truly weathering the storm and we look forward to working with the brand as it embarks on its growth plans for this year.”
