Kitchen retailer to open in former pub site

The Stamford New Road premises

The transformation of the former Slug & Lettuce premises at 31-33 Stamford New Road, Altrincham, is complete with the letting of the ground floor unit to renowned German kitchen retailer Kutchenhaus.

The investment property comprising a total of 8,000 sq ft was sold to Buzz Communications after the closure of the pub in 2017.

At that time access to the upper floors had been disabled as these were not considered viable business space, this has now been remodelled to provide six two-bedroom residential apartments which are all let.

The former pub space of 2,000 sq ft on the ground floor has been completely renovated and let on a 10-year lease at a rental of £45,500 per annum.

Joshua Bowyer, said: “I am extremely excited to be bringing the Kutchenhaus brand to Altrincham.

“It is an area we have been looking at for some time and feel this unit will make a fantastic showroom. We can’t wait to open the doors in April and begin creating wonderful kitchens for the people of Altrincham.”

Daniel Lee, director, Regional Property Solutions, responsible for the management of Buzz Communications’ property portfolio, said: “The public realm improvements and new occupiers such as Evuna, Ferrious and Ginkgoon continue to make Stamford New Road a desirable alternative retail pitch for the town centre.

“This is only set to improve with the impending redevelopment of The Grafton’s. This commercial letting is the final piece of the jigsaw realising the full potential of this investment opportunity.”
