Nantwich-based OCC Computer Personnel has changed hands in a management buyout.

PM+M, the chartered accountancy, business advisory and wealth management group, acted on behalf of Martin Keenan who acquired the firm for an undisclosed sum.

OCC is a specialist IT and technical recruitment company that was established in 1971.

It employs 16 people and covers the whole of the UK as well as mainland Europe, the Middle East, the Far East, the USA and Canada.

It supplies and recruits IT specialists with a wide range of technical skills across a variety of sectors including telecoms, ERP/SAP software, space, defence and science.

Martin joined OCC in 2001 and became a director of the business in 2011.

Over the past few years he has led the utilities practice working with a number of the top UK energy companies as well as other utility companies in the UK and overseas. He started his career in recruitment in 1990.

PM+M advised on the forecasting, business modelling, funding and structuring of the deal as well as key financial and tax-related terms in the sales and purchase agreement.

The team working on the deal included Chris Johnson, partner in audit, accounting and advisory, Jane Parry, the firm’s managing partner and lead tax adviser on the deal and Jim Akrill, corporate finance partner.

A team from Napthens’ East Lancashire office, led by Richard Robinson, advised Martin on legal matters.

PM+M’s Chris Johnson said: “We were delighted to help Martin in the MBO. He knows OCC inside out and so he is perfectly placed to guide the business into its next phase of growth.”

Martin Keenan added: “This deal is an exciting step in OCC’s history and my aim is to now further grow the business and its global reach over the coming years.”
