Independent technical consultancy Amido has kicked off celebrations for its 10-year anniversary by announcing the opening of a new office in Manchester – its first outside London.

The office has been set up to support the growing number of clients based in the North, including retailer Ralawise and The University of Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre – AMRC – in Lancashire’s Samlesbury Aerospace Enterprise Zone.

The office, based in the Northern Quarter, Manchester’s rapidly-growing technology and innovation hub, expects to have more than 15 developers, project managers and business analysts by the end of the year to support new and existing clients.

“The buzz around Manchester at the moment is incredible,” said senior BA consultant, Aly Mackenzie who recently re-joined Amido having left in April 2019 to move back up North.

“I am absolutely delighted to be part of the Amido foundation team up here and, with the talent that there is available here and across the North and North West I have no doubt we will be able to build an outstanding team to support our growth.”

Amido was founded in 2010 in Brighton before moving its headquarters to London in 2013.

With more than 150 employees and clients, including ASOS, Save the Children, and Notting Hill Genesis (NHG), Amido has established itself as a trusted partner for organisations looking to leverage digital technology to increase efficiency, drive innovation and accelerate growth.

“As a proud Northerner myself, the opening of the Manchester office is a particularly proud moment for me,” said chief executive Alan Walsh.

“Over the last couple of years, we have seen a real shift in our client base with more and more of our work supporting organisations based in the North. Now is the perfect time for us to establish our presence in the region.”
