High profile businessman taking on Tour de France challenge for cancer charity

Rob Cotton

High profile businessman Rob Cotton is taking part in a cycling challenge to raise cash for a cancer charity.

The Manchester businessman is joining forces with fellow fundraisers to cycle the full 2020 Tour de France route.

He will be cycling alongside former England footballer Geoff Thomas to raise money for Cure Leukaemia.

The charity is planning to invest £3m in 12 new UK blood cancer centres in the next 2 years.

The investment will provide fully funded trials and specialist nurses offering blood cancer patients pioneering, lifesaving treatments through clinical trials.

The chosen UK locations include Manchester and Leeds.

Rob and his fellow cyclists are looking to raise over £1m of the £3m needed by Cure Leukaemia to set up these 12 centres.

So far Geoff and Cure Leukaemia have made sure that the cost of event is fully underwritten by sponsors so every penny raised will go directly towards Cure Leukaemia and the 12 centres.
