Hi-tech mortgage firm aiming to double workforce in new recruitment drive

A Chorley-based mortgage brokers set up just one year ago has announced plans to go on a major recruitment drive, with plans to double staff numbers this year.

Mortgage Experience is looking to recruit 30 mortgage advisers, three administrative staff, and a marketing assistant in the next few months.

The firm, which was set up in February 2019 by colleagues Shaun Evans, Andrew Morrison and Alistair Jameson, has grown from just two staff, to a headcount of 30 in just 12 months.

Chief executive Shaun Evans said: “The last year has seen the business perform way beyond what we initially expected and the amount of enquiries keeps growing, so we are now on the hunt for more staff to continue our expansion and also grow our nationwide network of mortgage advisers.”

Shaun is also a director at Financial Experience, a financial advice, mortgage, protection and retirement company and a qualified mortgage broker.

He saw an opening in the market to create a mortgage advisory firm, backed by the latest technology, to enable advisers to deal with more enquiries and provide superior customers service.

He said: “By recruiting a really experienced team and investing in the latest financial and digital technology, we’ve created a great platform for growth and we are now one of the market leaders in the industry.

“The next step is to take the firm to the next level and to do this we need to recruit more talent. It’s an exciting time and we are offering some great opportunities for workers in the sector or people looking to make a move into the mortgage industry.”

To help drive recruitment for the firm, the company, which is shortlisted in three categories of TheBusinessDesk.com’s 2020 Business Masters Awards at Manchester’s Hilton Hotel on March 5, has also launched its own training programme, with a 12-month mortgage academy scheme designed to develop new talent and provide opportunities for young people to enter the industry, training them as qualified mortgage advisers.

Shaun said: “I want the success of our business to help contribute to providing job opportunities for young people in the area, so as part of our recruitment strategy we aren’t just looking for qualified advisers, we are looking for people with the right attitude who we can put through our own training and set them on the path for a successful career in the financial industry.”

Mortgage Experience is now one of the fastest growing advisers nationwide and has received industry recognition for its growth and the innovative technology and processes it has developed.
