A Manchester city centre dental practice has relocated to new state-of-the-art premises on St Ann’s Square, thanks to the support of a £260,000 funding package from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking.

The funding will enable Manchester Dental Practice to take on more patients and grow its offering.

The practice is currently the sole provider of NHS dental services in Manchester city centre and treats more than 18,000 patients each year.

The business, which was been based in the Northern Quarter for more than 25 years, will now operate from the new 3,700 sq ft premises at King’s Court.

As well as immediately increasing patient numbers, the business plans to add an eighth surgery specialising in facial aesthetics and cosmetic dentistry.

The dental practice, which currently employs 19 staff, believes the investment will help the business grow by up to 20% over the next five years and create five jobs, as a result.

Dr Asif Saleem, director at Manchester Dental Practice, said: “There are around 9,000 new homes currently under construction in Manchester city centre, which will only add to the existing high demand for our services.

“We’ve been considering re-homing our practice for some time and this exciting new location will enable us to provide greater access to our waiting list while widening our offer to support the increase in demand for cosmetic services.

“The team at Lloyds Bank ensured we could move quickly for this brilliant new site and we look forward to their ongoing support as we start implementing our growth plans there.”

Kate Salt, relationship director at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, said: “We’re proud to support ambitious businesses like Manchester Dental Practice as part of our plan to help Britain prosper.

“Not only are Asif and his team providing a critical NHS service to local people, but they are also investing in growth, creating all-important jobs in the process.”
