Accountancy firm launches centre of excellence in North West

Accountancy firm EY has invested in its Manchester Transaction Tax team to create a centre of excellence.
The move is in response to an increased demand across the North.
The arrival of two new managers will see the team grow to ten advisors based in the Manchester office, with further expansion planned by the end of the financial year.
Amber Westmoreland has re-joined EY as a manager from Deloitte and will focus on restructuring tax, including both solvent and insolvent transactions.
Dan Haslam joins the team from KPMG and will be working on North West corporate and private equity transactions.
Bob Ward, managing partner for EY in the North West, said: “I’m pleased to see that as a firm we remain committed to growing our regional presence and establishing ourselves in the North West market.
“The Transaction Tax team have been doing some fantastic work over the past few years and it’s encouraging to see demand growing and a wider service offering than ever before – right here in Manchester.
“Amber and Dan will both be great additions to the team and enable us to continue to support local businesses and make us their trusted advisor for private middle market transactions in the North West.”
The growing Transaction Tax team will focus on supporting clients on both purchase and sale transactions here in the North West. Headed up by Adele Hickling, the Manchester Transaction Tax team has a wealth of experience advising both corporate and private equity clients, including due diligence, structuring support as well as restructuring engagements and assisting businesses through all stages of their growth.
