Final space at Metro, Salford Quays, let on 20-year lease

Metro, Salford Quays

Picton, represented jointly by Savills and CBRE, has let the available space at Metro in Salford Quays to Her Majesty’s Courts and Tribunals Service (HMCTS).

Following a comprehensive refurbishment of the fourth floor and reception space, HMCTS has agreed a new 20-year lease for the 17,700 sq ft redeveloped workspace, which now comprises a new communal business lounge along with changing facilities and dedicated bicycle storage.

Existing occupiers in the building include BAM Construction, Hamburg Süd and Insight.

Occupying a highly-prominent position at the entrance to Salford Quays, Metro is just a short walk away from a range of nearby amenities, including restaurants, hotels, shops, bars and sporting facilities.

The property also benefits from being adjacent to Exchange Quay Metrolink Station with easy access to Manchester city centre.

Daniel Barnes, associate director in the office agency team at Savills, said: “Picton has successfully repositioned Metro with the recent refurbishment works, providing a large floorplate allowing for efficient workspace.

“We have seen strong demand for good quality workspace in Salford Quays, as evidenced by HMCTS commitment to this space soon after the refurbishment had completed.”

Tim Hamlin at Picton added: “We are delighted to welcome HMCTS to Metro and we wish them a successful occupancy in the building.”

Mark Baldwin, associate director from Avison Young represented HMCTS.
