New logistics consultancy launched for B2B and B2C sectors

C4 Logix, a new supply chain and logistics consultancy based in Warrington, has launched this week.

The venture specialises in the provision of analytical, design through to project delivery services, to retail, wholesale, manufacturing and e-commerce businesses.

Headed up by managing director Paul Shore and managing director of C4 Projects, Damian Horridge, the company will be ‘designing operations from the inside out,’ advising businesses, including e-retailers, third party logistics providers and manufacturers on improving operational efficiencies, managing change, designing optimum storage and warehouse facilities and delivering effective distribution strategies.

C4 Logix complements C4 Projects, which is a Warrington-based architectural, project management and cost consulting practice, with a long track record of operating in the logistics sector for a wide variety of clients across the UK.

C4 Projects comprises a 30-strong team, and the short term plan is to grow C4 Logix to a team of 10.

Paul Shore said: “There has never been a better time for retail businesses to take a really close look at their supply chain operations, especially with the almost overnight change in customer shopping habits.

“We are working with several companies to undertake a 360-degree review of their businesses, to fully analyse how it functions and where efficiencies can be delivered.

“My background is in both B2B & B2C distribution and helping companies to create the most efficient systems for storage, shipping, transport, stock-control and warehousing, with fully integrated best of breed supply chain technology wrapped round it.

“Having worked with several businesses within the wholesale, retail, omnichannel and pure online sectors, I know that the supply chain and delivery systems have to work like clockwork and it just so often falls far short of excellent.

“Not only can we identify supply and delivery improvements, but we also analyse the whole business and its systems, using those findings to then advise with total accuracy on warehousing and storage design requirements.”

He added: “We take a holistic view of the entire business processes, from ship to shop, to review practices and understand the requirements for change.

“We’re really re-designing everything from the inside out with input from stakeholders, analysis of the technology used – we also undertake thorough data analysis to look at what is really going on in the business.

“The days of relying on simply selecting a standard, speculative logistics unit built to institutional standards are fast disappearing.

“Businesses require bespoke fit-outs to exactly match the operational need.

“We work with businesses to understand their ‘As Is’ model and processes, business strategy and growth plan, then form a ‘To Be’ which can include automation and mechanisation through to last-mile distribution, before then advising on their required facilities.”

Damian Horridge said: “Although the initial idea for C4 Logix was conceived prior to the pandemic, the current economic situation has really amplified the huge pressure on supply chains and the need for e-commerce businesses to optimise their efficiency.

“Paul is a highly-experienced professional in advising businesses on their change management strategy and we are already in process of bringing in a number of highly-experienced people to join the team in the coming weeks.”
