Anchorage 2 fully let after mobile agency expansion

Anchorage breakout space

Less than one year since its official launch, Anchorage 2 is now fully let after UK mobile agency, Apadmi, has taken the final 4,500 sq ft of space.

The new letting is in addition to the 12,500 sq ft that the growing business already occupies at the development.

Apadmi relocated to Anchorage 2 earlier this year, transforming the entirety of the penthouse ninth floor with a stylish fit-out, which includes breakout and flexible working space to accommodate its growing team.

The final letting at Anchorage 2 comes after two further companies were welcomed to the building in recent months, including a well-known financial services firm which now occupies 12,494 sq ft on the eighth floor on a 10-year lease.

A specialist workwear and PPE provider that is working to provide much-needed protective clothing for the NHS and other front-line organisations, has also taken 4,171 sq ft on a six-year lease on the first floor.

The lettings further cement Anchorage as a quality destination for high-calibre businesses looking for quality accommodation in an accessible location, and the building’s success has allowed refurbishment works to now take place over at Anchorage 1.

Ian Murray, director at Canmoor, said: “The refurbishment and subsequent new occupier interest at Anchorage 2 has been a roaring success – less than 12 months since the launch and we are fully let.

“Despite the difficult circumstances we all find ourselves in, it’s brilliant to see Apadmi thriving and growing, even in the short time that the team has been based at Anchorage 2

“There’s now a dynamic mix of businesses at Anchorage and it is testament to that success which has allowed us to continue our extensive refurbishment programme across the wider estate and provide more quality space for businesses looking to take advantage of the scheme’s well connected location.”

Following a refinancing deal with Santander, refurbishment work began on Anchorage 1 in May, which will include a range of smaller flexible office suites from 1,850-5,500 sq ft.

Garry Partington, Apadmi chief executive, said: “We might not have been able to enjoy our new office for very long, but it’s great that the team has managed to adapt to working from home on a more full-time basis so well.

“Ensuring we have the right space for staff is an even more considered and important decision right now, with social distancing measures likely to be in place for some time. This additional floor ensures we have ample room to grow whilst maintaining plenty of extra space to ensure social distancing.”

JLL and Edwards & Co are joint office letting agents on the Anchorage scheme.
