Kingswood Homes secures future development growth

Green Hills

Preston-based Kingswood Homes has secured planning for future phases of its successful Green Hills development in Blackburn.

Blackburn with Darwen Council granted full permission for 155 properties and an outline consent for a further 280 homes on a 70-acres site off Livesey Branch Road.

Kingswood managing director, Paul Jones, said: “The consent allows us to continue to grow the community of Green Hills, putting in place the connecting open spaces, new planting and footpaths that residents so enjoy.

“The current situation is making people review lifestyles and the importance of space – both inside and outside the home.

“Green Hills has been designed around a model of lower density, giving people more open space to enjoy, which is currently at a premium.

“Huge online interest during lockdown is now translating into sales and phase 2 of Green Hills is more than 75% sold.

“We have taken six reservations this month already and we are expecting demand to continue to outstrip supply until construction gets back to pre-lockdown levels.”

He added: “The consent gives us certainty of a three- to five-year pipeline and allows us to put groundwork measures in place for future phases.”

The third phase of 54 new homes is expected to begin before the end of this year with the newly-consented fourth phase under way in 2021.

Green Hills forms part of the Gib Lane masterplan, designed to deliver high-quality family homes to the South West of the town close to the motorway network.
