Holiday village aiming for boost from Hollywood link

Nick Jonas in Rossendale

A Lancashire holiday village is hoping for a boost in trading, not just from the easing of lockdown regulations, but from links with a Hollywood superstar.

Rossendale Holiday Cottages and Glamping welcomed the Government’s new rules on social distancing which means it can reopen for business from July 4.

But it is hoping for a rush of bookings from people eager to stay in the same location as US singer, songwriter and actor, Nick Jonas.

He used the site for a top secret photoshoot, shortly before the UK went into lockdown.

Holiday village director Rachel Wilson received a request from an international production company looking for the perfect location for English countryside-themed photos.

The company organising the event explained that a celebrity would be present to model clothes for the photoshoot, but couldn’t say who it was until the
day. However they did say it would be a big name.

A production team booked accommodation at the location on Dean Lane to prepare for the assignment and staff were asked if they could provide animals for the shoot, so borrowed some cows and donkeys from their kind neighbour for the background in several photos.

Rachel said guests who were staying in the glamping pods did a double take when they saw Nick Jonas posing on the hillside.

She said: “Although the photoshoot was back in February, before the lockdown, the information has had to be kept top secret until the magazine was published.”

Stunning images were taken for the magazine L’official Hommes, with the Rossendale location receiving a mention.

Now they have been viewed worldwide, Rachel is hoping people will flock to stay where Nick visited.

She said: “The current restrictions have prevented the delivery of the magazine for now, however, there is a digital version online which kindly thanks the staff and the venue.

“Now we have been given permission to reopen, we are all looking forward to welcoming guests and cannot wait to get back to work at the eight holiday cottages and five glamping pods on 20 acres of beautiful land surrounded by trees and a little brook.

“This is a very peaceful site, not for the masses, but it does now offer the chance to walk where Nick Jonas did.”
