Retail-focused cloud company completes MBO

One iota, a provider of cloud-based digital solutions, has announced the management buyout of its business from Aptean, a global provider of mission-critical enterprise software solutions, for an undisclosed sum.

Manchester-based One iota says it is focused on helping global retailers and brands enhance the customer shopping experience and drive retail sales conversions both online and offline.

It became part of Aptean’s product portfolio through the £5.4m September 2019 acquisition of Sanderson Group, a UK-based provider of software and managed services.

Going forward, One iota will continue to be led by managing director Christian Brooks and the business will remain focused on its core solutions, as well as developing new offerings for retailers and brands.

Christian Brooks said: “This transaction allows One iota to continue to hone our strategy and we thank Aptean for the support that the company has provided to our products, customers and employees since the acquisition.”

Martin Wagstaff, group vice president at Aptean, said: “With this transition, One iota will be able to offer products better suited for the unique needs of its customers.

“They have a number of successful products with a talented management team behind it and we wish them great success.”

One iota works with global retail brands including HUGO BOSS, JD Sports, Quiz, Hawes & Curtis and Superdry to help improve their customers’ shopping experience and drive sales conversion.

Its cloud-based platform allows retailers to run a range of apps, including mobile, ecommerce and in-store, which covers signage, social walls and assisted sale tablets.

The platform and range of apps is aimed at helping brands inspire their customers and deliver targeted promotions and better service levels to engage their customers, ultimately leading to increasing levels of customer loyalty and sales.
