Redundancies made as contractor collapses into administration
Redundancies have been made at a civil engineering contractor after it collapsed into administration.
Middleton-based Bemus Construction Services worked with housebuilders and had been badly hit by the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
In late February, director Sean Walsh described the new housebuilding market as "very healthy" and highlighted Bemus's "strong forward order book, with some contracts ongoing into 2021/22".
