Online car retailer launches £1m North West customer centre operation

Cazoo's customer centre in Manchester

Cazoo, the fast-growing online car retailer has today (September 1) opened its first customer centre in Manchester.

Situated at 778 Chester Road, Stretford, it has been chosen as one of the flagship sites for a Cazoo customer centre as it plans to open 15 further locations across the UK by the end of the year.

The new centre has created more than 20 customer service and vehicle technician jobs, with further roles being offered across the North West as more centres open over the coming months. It involves almost £1m of investment.

While Cazoo remains an online-only retailer, as one of the UK’s fastest growing ecommerce businesses, these sites form a key part of its storage and distribution infrastructure as well as providing its customers with a local collection option and servicing facilities.

Customers will be able to browse cars for sale online at the customer centre with purchases made entirely online.

Cazoo customers located in and around Manchester will now have the option to choose between collecting their car from the customer centre or home delivery.

Both options include a thorough personalised introduction to their Cazoo car by a trained handover specialist and the new site also includes a service centre to handle all Cazoo customers’ MOT and servicing needs.

Cazoo, which raised its profile earlier this year by signing a kit sponsorship deal with Everton FC, owns and fully reconditions all its cars before offering them for sale on its website.

With thousands of cars on offer at any time, they are stored centrally and available for delivery anywhere in mainland UK or collection from a local customer centre in as little as 72 hours.

Every Cazoo car comes with a full seven-day money back guarantee and a comprehensive 90-day warranty.

Launched last year, Cazoo is pioneering the shift to online car buying in the UK and is already selling thousands of cars a month to customers all across the UK.

Since its launch, the company says consumers appear to be rapidly embracing the transparency and convenience of buying used cars entirely online and the rollout of its local customer centres will further enhance the Cazoo offering.

Retail director, Neil Smith, said: “We have been delighted by the overwhelmingly positive response of consumers to our online car buying proposition.

“With our ever-increasing number of sales, our new customer centres will provide our customers with more choice around how they want to receive their Cazoo car and allow us to serve them better through our own service centres.

“We’re excited to be opening in Manchester as we reinvent the car buying experience and continue our mission to provide better selection, transparency, convenience and peace of mind to used car buyers across the UK.”
