Service station sold off an asking price of £400k

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has sold the Gulf Swan Service Station in Hindley, Wigan, off an asking price of £400,000.

The site comprises a petrol forecourt, a convenience store, and formerly residential but now commercial premises.

The forecourt trades under the Gulf brand and has two islands with 10 filling points, and jet wash facilities.

The convenience store is equipped with all required chillers, shelving and gondolas, and currently trades under an independent banner.

A former three-bedroomed residential property is situated to the left side of the forecourt.

Subject to obtaining planning permission, the premises could be converted into residential/office space and generate a rental income or become living accommodation for an owner/operator.

The business was previously owned by Faruk Divelli, who acquired it more than 20 years ago.

Mr Divelli decided to sell to enjoy retirement.

The site has been purchased by Mr Suman Gopu, who plans to increase the product range on offer.

James Moore-Martin, director of retail at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, said: “This forecourt transaction was agreed in the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and completed within an eight-week period with multiple parties offering.

“I am absolutely delighted for both the outgoing vendors and the buyer alike, and wish both parties the best for the future.”
