Green light for extension to seaside resort hotel
Planning permission has been granted for an extenstion to the Hampton By Hilton Hotel scheme on South Shore, Blackpool.
Create Developments, specialists in turn-key hotel and residential projects and part of the Blackpool-based Create Group, will be completing the extension project for its sister company, Create Construction.
The first phase of the hotel was completed in May 2018 by Create, which was part of Blackpool council’s regeneration of the New South Promenade.
The hotel currently comprises 130 bedrooms, a fitness room, business work zone, reception area and restaurant/bar.
It plays an important role in attracting visitors and businesses to the area, as well as supporting the local jobs market. It recently provided accommodation for key workers during the height of the COVID-19 crisis.
The planned extension will provide 74 more bedrooms, a larger and more efficient kitchen and breakfast area and new flexible meeting spaces, improving both its capacity and efficiency.
By providing these extra facilities in the area, the hotel will be able to give further support to the new Blackpool Conference Centre and anticipated Winter Gardens exhibition centre extension, as well as helping to boost the local economy.
The new rooms will implement the updated Hilton brand standards, meeting the increasing demand from Hilton Honours guests and business visitors alike.
They will also provide high-quality bed stock after the loss of the previous Hilton hotel on the North Shore.

Create Construction will begin building works in the first quarter of 2021, with a build duration of 52 weeks.
