Construction giant to move into major regeneration scheme
Construction group Hilti is to move its warehouse to the Carrington Gateway development as it seeks to kickstart the regeneration scheme.
The Trafford site has a 30-year blueprint for 11,500 homes and 8m sq ft of commercial space.
There is initial approval for 725 homes and 1m sq ft, which will include Hilti’s Great Britain logistics hub.
Hilti had revealed plans in February to move its UK head office to the Circle Square development in Manchester. The latest announcement will see its warehouse teams move from Bredbury Parkway in Stockport.
Hilti employs 30,000 people around the world manufacturing technology, software and services for the professional construction industry.
Matias Jarnefelt, Great Britain general manager for Hilti, said: “Carrington Gateway offers us the space we need now, and the potential to grow in the future.
“Our move to Gateway represents a significant investment in the future of our Logistics function and together with our move to Circle Square, in the city centre of Manchester further demonstrates our commitment to the Manchester area.”
