Communications firm signs up to five-year lease on town centre site

St Georges Square

Business communications company Cleartech Communications has signed up to take the whole of Chesham House at St Georges Square, Bolton, totalling 3,710 sq ft, on a new five-year lease.

Owned by an overseas family trust, St Georges Square comprises 10 office buildings totalling 37,000 sq ft situated within Bolton town centre.

Cleartech will move from its existing office at Atlas 1, within the scheme, into larger self-contained premises.

Tony Consterdine, Cleartech managing director, said: “The decision to acquire Chesham House was taken to keep our growing workforce safe during these testing times whilst also providing the dedicated space for our technical team to continue to provide first rate support for our growing customer base.

“Despite the current economic uncertainty I am confident that our new home will enable Cleartech to continue to grow and provide an aspirational environment for our staff and customers.”

David Thwaites, of Thwaites Real Estate which is asset manager for the scheme, said: “This is great news, not only for St Georges Square, but for Bolton, and demonstrates that, even with the local restrictions there is still demand for high-quality office space in the town for companies such as Cleartech whose business model have enabled them to thrive during lockdown.

“Following the recent refurbishment programme we have put in place we are now up to 75% occupancy with strong levels of interest for the remaining space which we will be announcing further news on shortly.”

Lamb and Swift are joint letting agents, along with Thwaites Real Estate, for the scheme.
