Northern Asian Powerlist 2020 winners – Karina Jadhav

Karina Jadhav, managing director of Menagerie Restaurant & Bar, won the Women in Business category of the inaugural Northern Asian Powerlist 2020.

The full list of winners, along with all those shortlisted, was announced on Friday 2 October.

Outlining why they had chosen Jadhav, the judges’ report said: “Having started out with no prior business training, Karina has gone from running a stall at Manchester’s Food and Drink festival to creating a one-of-a-kind, vibrant and different dining experience in a most competitive and challenging market.

“Karina has firmly cemented herself and her business as frontrunners on Manchester’s thriving hospitality scene.”

Jadhav responded: “I am delighted to have been selected as the winner of such a prestigious category amongst so many admirable nominees, all of whom are paving the way for Asian business women in the North.”

 

Shortlisted for the Women in Business category were:

North East – Anu Kaura, head of legal and Group in-house lawyer at Malhotra Group PLC; Hina Joshi, principal associate, Mayvin Associates; Sabrina Din, manager, Teacher Time.

North West – Asma Younus, travel and lifestyle blogger, JetSetChick.com; Jo Ahmed, partner, Deloitte; Nisha Katona MBE, founder of Mowgli Street Food.

Yorkshire & the Humber – Usha Parmer, chief executive, Sunrise Radio; Fara Butt, sales and marketing director, The Shire Bed Company; Salma Chaudhry, director, The Halal Cosmetics Company.
