IT service management company acquires tech firm

Company to accelerate growth drive under new ownership

IT service management company Pantek, based in Stockport, has acquired Redditch-based software firm M.A.C Solutions for an undisclosed sum.

M.A.C is a technical distributor of hardware and software products specialising in leading connectivity platforms, such as Kepware, cyber security and alarm management software.

Founded in Redditch in 1996, M.A.C supplies clients in the transportation, surveillance, infrastructure and automation industries.

SolutionsPT, acting as the main trading entity of the Pantek group, has more than 30 years’ experience helping end users, and their systems integrators, navigate their systems from design, through implementation and into the systems operational use and ongoing management.

John Bailey, chairman of Pantek, said: “M.A.C. Solutions brings a wealth of expertise and experience in communications, cyber security, version control and alarm management and will enhance the SolutionsPT’s ability to address the very modern challenges of today’s industrial environment.

“M.A.C Solutions’ UK and Ireland-wide approach, coupled with the expertise of its people, means the two companies can work together very effectively.”

Tim Ricketts, chairman and founder of M.A.C. Solutions said: “Being part of the Pantek group and working together with SolutionsPT will accelerate our drive to make M.A.C. Solutions a leading technical distributor for the Industrial Internet Of Things covering Edge computing, remote management, OPC communications and cyber security, as well as increasing our investment ability to develop our own complementary products.”

Tax, audit and advisory firm Mazars advised the shareholders of Pantek.
