Plans for four-storey apartment scheme approved

The Kenyon Lane plans

Developer Adelphi Kenyon Lane (Developments) has secured planning permission from Manchester City Council for a 27,500 sq ft residential scheme on Kenyon Lane in Moston.

The four-storey block will provide 33 apartments, the majority of which will be two beds.

Adelphi spokesman, Geoff Underhill, said: “A lot of hard work has gone into the proposals from our professional team and we’re delighted with the approval.

“This is a perfect location for good quality affordable housing and we look forward to bringing it to market.”

The scheme was designed by the Manchester studio of Falconer Chester Hall, with planning advice from Zerum.

The Manchester office of Abacus Solicitors provided legal advice to the developer.

The site was originally the home of the Adelphi cinema before conversion to a bingo hall and then a DIY store called Deanway Hardware.

The building, which is in poor repair, will be demolished to make way for the new scheme, which will boast a large, landscaped residents’ garden to the rear.

Work is expected to begin on site in 2021.
