Transport group makes fourth acquisition in three years

Transport and accommodation provider CMAC Group has made its fourth acquisition in three years with the purchase of Ontraccs.

The deal will support Accrington-based CMAC’s expansion into Heathrow Airport, where Ontraccs customers are located, and welcome more than 20 airlines to its growing roster of partners.

Ontraccs has a disruption management platform which provides missed flight connection services to airlines and ground handling organisations primarily based in Heathrow airport.

Steve Turner, chief executive of CMAC Group, said: “We feel that this solution perfectly complements our existing transport and accommodation services within the sector and we look forward to our existing aviation customers benefiting from it.

“Ontraccs founder Ameer Peerally has worked incredibly hard to build a successful automated solution and we are excited to drive this forward to scale our aviation solution across the UK and Europe.”

CMAC previously bought managed taxi specialist Cabfind in 2018, Nottinghamshire-based Cabline in 2019, and expanded into Europe with the addition of Spanish company Aircinks Solutions, also in 2019.

It said its latest deal will strengthen the group’s position as “the UK’s top provider of pre-planned and emergency transport and accommodation solutions”.

It moves more than 1m people in a normal year through a nationwide network of 4,000 transport partners.q
