Northern Powerhouse Rail submits ambitious proposals to government
Northern leaders have agreed an initial plan for a new railway network that will transform the region’s economy.
It could create thousands of jobs and includes calls for a new rail link between Liverpool and Manchester, through Warrington town centre, as well as a line from Manchester to Leeds, via Bradford.
