HR and payroll firm swoops in takeover of rival

Symatrix, the Manchester-based Oracle ERP, HCM and outsourced payroll services provider, has acquired rival Succeed, an Oracle Peoplesoft HCM and payroll consultancy services provider, for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition will strengthen Symatrix’s HR and Payroll consulting capabilities and is the latest stage of the company’s ongoing expansion following a year of dynamic growth during 2020.

In line with this, Symatrix plans to bring all of Watford-based Succeed’s existing employees into the business.

This will lead to a further rise in headcount, following a major recruitment drive over the past year.

The acquisition also highlights Symatrix’ commitment to delivering Oracle implementations and providing high-quality consulting and support.

Like Symatrix, Succeed has been actively engaged in HR and payroll since 2000 and has built up extensive experience and expertise across both areas, which will help strengthen the Symatrix offering.

Chris Brooks, Symatrix managing director, said: “We see significant synergies between our two businesses both in terms of our expertise in Oracle and our understanding of HR and payroll. We are taking on an experienced team and some fantastic customers.”

He added: “The Succeed team is a great addition and will help us strengthen even further our existing consulting and manage service offerings.

“The Succeed customers will continue to receive the exceptional service levels that they are used to and, in addition, will benefit from access to the wider Symatrix service suite including fully managed payroll and testing as a service.”
