Ambitious ALS opens Irish office
TRANSLATION business Applied Language Solutions (ALS) has opened an office in Ireland as part of its ambitious expansion programme.
The Dublin office will offer the full range of language services – including translation, interpreting, voice-overs and proof reading – to businesses with a presence in Ireland.
Oldham-based ALS intends to open ten new offices a year for the next three years and Ireland is the first to be picked due to the strong presence of international businesses there.
The launch of the Irish office will be followed by additional offices in Europe and Asia in the coming months.
Richard Stangroom, market development director at ALS, said: “We already work with several companies in Ireland including Google, so having a dedicated, local presence will enable us to build upon this customer base further.
“Our Irish office presents a great strategic location to help us continue expanding the business globally, due to both the country’s large concentration of technology companies, which regularly require translation services for software applications, and the number of large corporates that are based there.”
The Irish sales team will be led by Angela Corrigan, who joins Applied Language Solutions as business development director, following four years at another translation company named VistaTEC where she was responsible for business development and managing a portfolio of global clients.
She said: “Applied Language Solutions has a reputation for constantly challenging the way that the industry delivers quality language solutions to companies.
“The localisation industry has evolved at a tremendous rate due to developments in technology and I am delighted to be joining a company that has a strong focus on innovation and is growing quickly as a result of the passionate, ambitious culture that clearly exists across the organisation.”
ALS was launched by entrepreneur Gavin Wheeldon in 2003 and had a turnover of £6.5m to the end of last May.
