Energy firm relocates to bigger Cheshire headquarters

Aldford House

Acting on behalf of Preston-based Eric Wright Group, Legat Owen has secured a 4,600 sq ft letting at Aldford House at Cheshire Oaks Business Park to Argent Energy.

The British sustainable biodiesel producer and fuel supplier has relocated from 2,000 sq ft at Sycamore House to take the first floor at Aldford House, located opposite, on a nine-year lease.

The ground floor is leased by Total Conveyancing Services.

Argent joins existing occupiers Legal Marketing Services, UBM Information, Morris & Co accountants and Wirral NHS Foundation Trust.

Growing from a single facility in Motherwell, Scotland, Argent built a new biodiesel production facility at Stanlow during 2017 and acquired its third plant in the port of Amsterdam in 2018.

The company is integrating all facilities in a new organisational structure and has relocated some core office activities to its headquarters at Cheshire Oaks Business Park. The group is now well placed to further expand its activities in the UK and Netherlands.

Nicola Dean, chief financial officer at Argent Energy, said: “When we moved to Cheshire Oaks Business Park in May 2019 we knew that it would be for a limited amount of time as we had embarked on a growth strategy. The opportunity to upscale to Aldford House was a rare opportunity to create value for Argent and Eric Wright Group.”

Will Sadler, director at Legat Owen, sole agents for the building, said: “Cheshire Oaks continues to be an optimum location for thriving businesses, such as Argent. Aldford House met their exact requirements and ensured the company remained on the park.”

Cheshire Oaks Business Park benefits from direct access to junction 10 of the M53 approximately half a mile to the East which, in turn, connects with the M56 approximately half a mile to the South of junction 10.

Argent Energy was represented by Rupert Collis at Fisher German.
