Kerry-Dene Ihlenfeldt

Preventative healthcare specialist PAM Group has appointed a managing director of its ToHealth business to spearhead its ambitious expansion plans.

Kerry-Dene Ihlenfeldt has been promoted to the newly-created role from her previous position as operations director in the Warrington-based group’s PAM Occupational Health Solutions division.

She has also been appointed to the PAM Group board.

Kerry-Dene joined PAM Group seven years ago as a trainee occupational health adviser after spending 11 years as a nurse. Before taking up nursing she worked in health and safety and as an IT consultant.

Mike Fawcett has succeeded Kerry-Dene in her former role at PAM OH Solutions after joining the group from Nuffield Health.

Meanwhile, ToHealth has also recruited Nina Parson as its director of psychology and Dr Sandeep Singh Sahdra as its medical director.

ToHealth provides corporate health and neurodiversity services including employee health and wellness screening, assessments, assistive technology, diagnostics and staff coaching and awareness training.

The business, which PAM Group acquired in January 2019, has 50 staff and posted revenues of £2.1m for 2020. It aims to triple in size over the next few years through organic growth, adding new services and through acquisitions.

PAM Group founder and chief executive, James Murphy, said: “We have ambitious plans to grow ToHealth through significant and continued investment, and Kerry-Dene is the ideal person to take the business to the next level.

“This is her fifth promotion within PAM Group and reflects her proven track record of delivering results, managing client relationships and achieving business growth. She was the obvious choice from our internal senior team to take up this new role.”

He added: “Nina is an experienced chartered psychologist who will oversee the clinical delivery, direction and development of our neurodiversity and psychological assessments.

“Sandeep will advise on medical policy and practice and will support the ToHealth team as its services grow. Both are specialist clinicians who bring considerable expertise to ToHealth as we build a focused, specialist management team to deliver quality services that are targeted to meet our clients’ needs.

“Mike has a long track record in occupational health account management and is a great addition to the group.”

Kerry-Dene said: “I am looking forward to leading the ToHealth team and growing our business. It’s an exciting time for us, as health has become a core part of people’s thinking over the past year and demand for healthcare has been unprecedented.”

Independent law firm Brabners has added further experience to its specialist immigration offer as it continues to provide support to businesses and elite sport clubs across the UK following Brexit.

Arshia Hashmi joins as a senior associate from Freeths with considerable experience operating in the sport sector. She serves as an independent non-executive director at Lancashire County Football Association and represents Lancashire as a Football Association (FA) council member, as well as sitting on The FA Judicial Panel as an independent legal member.

Arshia joins the firm as it continues to add to a stable of high profile sporting clients which includes Leicester City FC, Liverpool FC and Wigan Warriors.

Arshia’s appointment comes at a time of uncertainty for many employers as they adapt to new immigration and right to work legislation following the UK’s exit from the EU. The changes are particularly impactful in elite level sport competitions, such as the Premier League, where freedom of movement between EU countries has supported exponential growth.

Arshia Hashmi

Alongside immigration specialists Laura Darnley and Brendan McAleese, Arshia will bring additional experience in both corporate and personal immigration with a focus on advising international businesses in transferring staff to the UK. Her appointment comes at a time of growth for Brabners’ now 40-strong employment team, with the team having created a number of new roles during the past 12 months across each of its offices in Liverpool, Manchester and Preston.

Lydia Edgar, head of sport and employment at Brabners’ Manchester office, said: “Arshia’s experience supporting UK and international clients regarding immigration and right to work legislation will make her a valuable asset to our growing team. The high standard of UK domestic sport has been an important draw for international athletes for decades. By continuing to work closely with elite level clubs and professional organisations, we can ensure that this remains the case for decades to come.”

Brabners managing partner, Nik White, said: “Our employment team has enjoyed a sustained period of growth over the last three years, with Brexit a recurring theme for employers both in the North and across the UK. We’ve seen particular growth in issues relating to freedom of movement and it’s our intention to continue supporting clients in every sector as they look to overcome new challenges regarding immigration and sustain the nation’s economic recovery.”
