Automotive distributor creates UK headquarters at Birchwood Park

The Harris Group site

International automotive company Harris Group has moved on to Birchwood Park.

The Dublin-based business has established its first UK headquarters at the North West’s largest out of town business park.

The company is recognised as one of the UK and Ireland’s foremost distributors of commercial vehicles, and hopes that the acquisition of its site in Warrington will allow for achieving further growth targets.

The MAXUS brand’s new Birchwood Park HQ will take the form of 24,239 sq ft of warehouse space in 719 Eddington Way, and will house MAXUS’s UK-based staff as well as a distribution centre for Harris CAS, the company’s spare parts division.

It will also include an electric vehicle technical centre to supplement the new MAXUS training academy in the Harris Group HQ in Dublin.

The strong network links surrounding Warrington was a key decision in Harris MAXUS’s choice of location, with the headquarters situated close to the M6 and M62 motorway interchange, providing excellent links to the surrounding region and beyond.

Martin O’Rourke, commercial director at Birchwood Park, said: “It is fantastic to be welcoming one of the UK’s leading commercial vehicle distributors to our community.

“We are incredibly proud that MAXUS chose the park to be their UK base – we cannot wait to see their warehouse and training rooms once they have settled in and wish them a happy and successful time here with us.”

Mark Barrett, general manager of Harris MAXUS, said: “Up until now, all operations for MAXUS UK had been overseen by Harris’s global headquarters in Ireland, so the acquisition of a UK HQ based in Warrington is an important step for our business activities and only strengthens our commitment to the UK market.”
