Savills pays tribute to colleague of 20 years

Howard Morgan

Property firm Savills has paid tribute to former Manchester-based colleague of 20 years, Howard Morgan, who sadly died last month.

Howard joined Savills in 1998 and established the firm’s building consultancy department in Manchester, building the team into a hugely successful force in the North West market.

In 2008 he took on the role of head of Savills’ Manchester office, replacing Mark Ridley who, at that time, was promoted to chairman and chief executive of Savills UK.

Following on from Howard’s tenure as head of the office, he continued to work with clients across Savills’ national business.

James Evans, head of Savills Manchester, said: “Howard was a highly regarded member of the business, a larger than life character with a huge presence.

“He was a superb leader and dear friend to many of us, and his departing will leave a huge hole for many.”

Gary Bulloch, head of building consultancy for Savills Manchester, said: “Howard was held in the highest regard by clients, many of whom worked with him for years.

“We will continue to build on his legacy, he was hugely supportive to his team members and great company to all in the office.”

In tribute to Howard, Savills Global CEO, Mark Ridley, said: “I am truly saddened by the loss of Howard, he contributed so much to the Savills national business.

“He was a dear friend as well as a terrific colleague and I had great pride handing over my head of office role to Howard, whom I trusted implicitly.

“He took the business forward brilliantly and was respected by both clients and colleagues alike.”

Savills said its thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Howard at this very sad time.
