Developer aims to revitalise town centre with mixed-use planning application

Plans for Telegraph House

Crossfield Exclusive Developments has applied for planning permission to transform Telegraph House, on Moor Lane in Crosby, North Liverpool, to create a brand new mixed-use residential and retail development.

Designed by Liverpool-based architects, Studio RBA, the development will provide approximately 1,000 sq m of town centre space to attract high quality retailers on the ground floor. In addition, proposed plans include 74 well-designed new homes on the upper floors with rooftop gardens for residents.

The new development will offer accessible homes on previously developed land within a town centre environment, assisting Sefton Council in delivering development that supports the objectives of its Climate Emergency Strategy.

Through its redevelopment of Telegraph House, Crossfield Exclusive Developments intends to contribute to town centre amenities, increasing footfall to Crosby Village by transforming Moor Lane into a vibrant gateway to the town centre.

David Cain, Crossfield Exclusive Developments managing director, said: “I grew up in Crosby and so this development is really important to me personally.

“The town needs and deserves investment and, like all communities, it has suffered through the challenges of the past 12 months. We have worked closely with our design partners at RBA and our planning consultants at Savills to create a vision for Telegraph House that gives the town exactly what it needs – high quality homes and new retail facilities, which will, in turn, create new employment for local people.

He added: “We have worked with the council to design an exceptional scheme that will meet the needs of existing and future residents in Crosby.

“Should planning be granted, we have a real opportunity with Telegraph House and we hope to be able to start on site with development this summer.”

Building work at Telegraph House will be carried out by Crossfield Construction, part of Crossfield Group.

Liverpool-based Crossfield Group is also delivering the extension of Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre on behalf of Sefton Council, a project that will include new hospitality and event facilities, new reception areas, sleeping accommodation and upgrades to the mechanical and electrical services.
