Cyber awareness firm acquires competitor

Boxphish, a Leeds-based leading cyber awareness and training company, has acquired competitor Purplephish for an undisclosed sum.

Headquartered in Manchester, Purplephish currently provides training and insights to over 100,000 end-users in over 50 mid-market and enterprise clients. The acquisition signals Boxphish’s ambition for growth by bringing increased revenue, staff numbers and customers into the enlarged company.

Formed in 2018, Boxphish helps corporate clients to become more cyber aware by identifying risk areas within their businesses and delivering tailored solutions to address the vulnerabilities. With over 90% of cyber attacks, having a human element that has failed; Boxphish helps to create a culture of cyber awareness and security through interactive learning.

As a result of the deal Boxphish has added over 25 training modules to its content library and training platform, which will continue to be supported and delivered by Boxphish. In addition, an augmented customer service team will give them a greater ability to provide high-quality training through their automated platform.

The business now provides training to over 200,000 end-users and supports customers such as BrewDog, Macmillan Cancer Support, Leicester Tigers, North Yorkshire Council and The Open University.
