Accountancy firm relocates to bigger city centre premises

Trinity

Top 20 accountancy firm Saffery Champness has completed the relocation of its Manchester team to the landmark Trinity building in the heart of the city on a long term lease.

The historic building, constructed in 1865 and located in the centre of Manchester between Albert Square and the Spinningfields business district, has been newly refurbished and remodelled to accommodate Grade A office space providing high-tech, ergonomic working facilities for staff members and a welcoming space for clients.

Saffery Champness’s Manchester team, which provides tax and general advice and audit and accounting services to individuals and businesses across the North West, has seen substantial growth in recent years, with the combined total of partners and staff members increasing by more than 50% in the past two years alone.

To meet its evolving requirements and reflecting the changing use of office space and the new world of agile working arising from the global challenges of the past year, the firm will occupy 4,176 sq ft on the fifth floor of the state-of-the-art Trinity scheme.

Mike Hodges, head of the Manchester office, said: “Saffery Champness in Manchester is a real success story.

“Manchester and the wider North West is one of the most dynamic regions in the UK, with the city being home to one of the fastest growing technology hubs in Europe and a thriving economy more widely.

“With this growth has come rising demand for high quality professional advice and our team has grown significantly over the past few years to meet these needs, consolidating our position as a leading provider of tax and business advisory and audit and accounting services in the North West.

“The team’s new state-of-the-art home in the heart of Manchester’s thriving business district is a fitting next chapter in our growth story and there is a pleasing symmetry that the original building, built by Edward Salomans, was built exactly 10 years after the founding of Saffery Champness in 1855.”

He added: “It now provides us a home that is not only a significant upgrade for the present, but which will also support our continued growth into the future.

“We very much look forward to welcoming our clients and colleagues here in due course.”
