Ciao to Rome as Wizz Air announces more new flights from Liverpool

Wizz Air, the low-cost carrier in Central and Eastern Europe, has announced another new service to be added to its growing network from Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) with flights to the Italian capital of Rome set to commence this summer.

Three times weekly flights are due to start on July 1, in time for the peak summer season departing on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and sees the return of flights to the Italian capital for the first time in more than two years.

This is the third new route from Liverpool to be announced in the past three weeks and adds to Wizz Air’s growing network by becoming its 13th route from LJLA.

Paul Winfield, LJLA’s director of aviation development, said: “The region’s travellers have been largely grounded for most of the past 14 months, but we believe that the demand for international travel remains strong, which is why we have continued to work closely with our airline partners to offer passengers from across the region a great choice of destinations to choose from over the coming weeks and months, once international travel restrictions are lifted next week.”

He added: “We are delighted to see Wizz Air continue to develop their business from Liverpool, creating more opportunities for passengers from across the North West and North Wales to travel to a growing number of European destinations direct from Liverpool.”
