Two North West IT companies have joined forces following the acquisition of Salford-based Staveley Comms by Warrington firm Communicate Better, for an undisclosed sum.

Converged technology provider Communicate Better has flourished amid the pandemic and will expand its geographical coverage across the UK, with its 17th acquisition in the past 10 years.

The move will strengthen its IT, mobile, telephony and telematics offering.

The latest purchase, which is described as “a natural fit” by chief executive Wayne Cartwright, will give the firm the opportunity to cross-sell a wide range of products to the Staveley Comms customer base.

Staveley Comms was established in 1998 and is an IT and Telephony specialist.

It will become part of the Communicate Better Group but will continue to operate under the Staveley Comms name, with all management and employees remaining in position to ensure continuity of service.

Wayne Cartwright said: “After a testing last 12 months guiding the business through the pandemic, the time is right to pick up and continue with our buy and build strategy which has always worked well for us.

“We welcome the staff and customers of Staveley Comms and look forward to embedding them into our team so they can enjoy all the excellent support we currently give to our existing base. Staveley is an exciting business for us as it adds products and services to our portfolio, such as the Avaya and 3CX products.”

Staveley Comms managing director, Ian Graydon, said: “Communicate Better is a great fit for Staveley Comms to help take the business forward.

“There are lots of common synergies between the businesses and the expanded product portfolio on both sides offers really compelling choices for our customers. We are all looking forward to integrating the businesses together and being part of a larger organisation.“
