Eversheds Sutherland advises Manchester International Festival

Law firm Eversheds Sutherland has provided pro bono legal support to Manchester International Festival (MIF).

This year’s Festival started on 1 July and includes 18 days of arts, theatre, dance and music world premieres across the city.

Launched in 2007, MIF has been turning the city into a world stage for the arts over the past decade.

This year’s highlights include gigs from Arlo Parks and Damon Albarn at Manchester Central, the world premiere of movie All of this Unreal Time starring and poetry recital Arcadia which will give audiences the first glimpse inside the new Factory arts space which will become the permanent home of MIF.

The Eversheds Sutherland team is led by Kuljeet Gill (client partner) and Michael Clavell-Bate (Manchester senior partner), and is supported by partners Tom Bridgford and Phillip Tunney, legal director Amanda Dodsworth, principal associates Sasha Fasolilli, Lisa Highet and Helen Cairns, senior associate Alexandra Emery and associates Amy Parkinson, Mark Rand, Misha Sealy and Laura Nally.

The team advises MIF on a multitude of matters including working with artists across the globe to finalise commissioning agreements; advising on The Factory, supporting with queries regarding IP infringement and various regulatory compliance issues; providing bespoke IP training; and creating customised precedent agreements for MIF to use going forward.
