Landwood Group goes for flexibility with new Manchester base

Lancaster Buildings, Manchester

National chartered surveyors Landwood Group have signed up to a new Manchester office.

Landwood’s Manchester team will occupy a 1,500 sq ft space on the second floor of Lancaster Buildings at 77 Deansgate, signing a five-year lease from this month.

The new Manchester base, moving from South Central on Peter St, will support teams in Chester, Liverpool and London.

OBI advised BCL Legal, the owners of the building on the transaction.

Mark Bailey, Managing Director of Landwood Group said: “Landwood has experienced strong growth over the past year – including a rise in headcount – but we wanted to move into a smaller, more agile and a more welcoming office space.

“With staff working from home at least two times a week, we really had to ask ourselves whether we needed the space we had pre-Covid and we came to the conclusion that we didn’t.

“Unlike many firms in the property sector, which is still very traditional, our way of working is very flexible so we wanted a space that could accommodate that.

“OBI made the process of acquiring a new, city centre office location that suited our needs really straightforward.

“Our Manchester team is looking forward to moving in from next month and making the workspace their new home.”

Landwood Group brings together chartered surveyors, asset managers and auctioneers to  offersupport on all aspects of property, plant & machinery, and business assets.

Debbie Meredith, Transactions and Asset Management at OBI, said: “The fitted-out workspace that has been secured is ideal for Landwood Group.

“With only one suite remaining of 1,500 sq ft on the second floor, and the building’s prime location on Deansgate, I am sure it will not be long before the building is fully occupied”.

James Batt, managing director, BCL Legal said: “Over a number of years, OBI has leased, project managed and tailored the design throughout the building to our vision. It is a pleasure to now welcome Landwood Group to Lancaster Buildings”.

OBI provides advice to clients in both Manchester and Leeds across its multi-discipline services, which include leasing and investment, office acquisitions, building consultancy, business relocations, interior design, project management and dilapidations.
